Stevanato Group Ceoo speech at inaugurationToday the Knight of Labor Sergio Stevanato, President of the Stevanato Group, in the presence of the Italian ambassador and Mexican officials inaugurated a new production facility in Cienega de Flores (Monterrey) I the state of Nuevo Leon. This new factory reinforces the group's role as world leader in the pharmaceutical primary packaging market.

It is one of he most advanced factories in the world for the production of glass tube containers for pharmaceutical use. America is the reference market, in particular the US, therefore the position in northern Mexico is strategic. But not only, in fact the President of the Group Sergio Stevanato says: "We feel that the American market is strategic for our growth in the next few years and here, in Monterrey, we have found what can be considered an ideal place due to the convergence of numerous key factors including an important local tradition in industrial glass working that dates back to the early 1900's and one of the highest concentrations of excellent technical universities in Mexico."

The choice of opening a new productive pole is in line with the world market trend to direct the development of new highly technological products to the US. Some of the biggest pharmaceutical groups already took this step some time ago and the Stevanato Group decided to meet these new needs by getting past the physical and logistical obstacle of distance caused by concentrating the productive capacity in Europe.

The new plant is able to reach an annual productive capacity of 150 million vials and cartridges and will double production in the next two years. All containers comply with the highest international quality standards for pharmaceutical primary packaging.

The factory, which already occupies 7,000 sq m out of 12,000 sq m to be developed, fully satisfies the highest quality process levels thanks to the combined participation of know how from the Glass Division and the Engineering Division, the two business areas of the Stevanato Group. The planning and construction of the plant was internally managed by the Engineering Division, which followed the work and installation of production lines, while the Glass Division was responsible for training local personnel and quality.

The factory in Monterrey plays an important role in the creation of new jobs and the spreading of know how in the region. Over 20 employees have been trained in Italy at the main plant in order to return to Mexico and guarantee the quality standards of the Group.
