PARIS, Jan. 21, 2009 - The EZ-fillTM vials and cartridges, the innovative product by Stevanato Group, world leader in the insulin cartridges and pharmaceutical glass containers, has been presented today at Paris' Pharmapack, the international venue for pharmaceutical packaging experts.

Launched on the market for the very first time, the concrete fruit of investments in research and development, which are estimated at 18 million euros this year, the EZ-fillTM vials and cartridges looks like an extension of the EZ-fillTM range and will provide pharmaceutical companies with a clean, sterile, non-pyrogenic glass container, ready to be filled.

"It is a remarkable added value for the pharmaceutical companies - states Sergio Stevanato, CEO of Stevanato Group -. So they can outsource the first part of the manufacturing process, thereby reducing their costs and concentrating their resources on research, which is their core business". In addition, one of the upsides of EZ-fillTM for vials and cartridges is that it can be easily integrated into the existing pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, both automatically and semi-automatically.

With a production of over 2 billion ampoules, vials, cartridges and syringes per year, Stevanato Group of Piombino Dese, near Padova (Italy), has made its 60 years' experience, along with a highly skilled staff and permanently updated know-how, its greatest strength, becoming a world leader and a partner to the major pharmaceutical multinationals.

It actually exports its products to over 120 countries, accounting for 75% of its yearly turnover, which in 2008 amounted to 142.5 million euros and is expected to grow to 159 million euros in 2009. Such growth has been sustained by a medium- and long-term development plan, which relies on a massive research investment plan and the opening of new manufacturing plants in some key countries, such as the latest one in Monterrey, Mexico, catering to the American market, especially the USA, with optimised resources guaranting high quality standards.
