April 1st, 2009 - Just 3 months since its opening, the production site of Stevanato Group in Monterrey, Mexico, specialized in the manufacture of glass vials, ampoules, cartridges and syringes for the pharmaceutical industry, has been achieved the ISO 9001 quality certification.
The Monterrey site was inaugurated in October 2008. With this new opening, Stevanato Group further strengthens its global leadership, as proven by a 2008 turnover of 142.5 million Euros and an expected 159 million Euros for 2009.
The company has successfully established itself in many countries, setting up quite a few partnerships with leading pharmaceutical multinationals and exporting mostly to Europe, the United States, Japan and Australia, accounting for > 75% of its total yearly turnover. The new facility in Monterrey has been specifically created to address the needs of the American market.
The recent ISO certification realizes the Company's goal of harmonization of its management systems, which guarantees that all of its production facilities follow the same quality standards. The management organization of Stevanato Group, with a centralized Corporate Quality Assurance system, manages the proper implementation of existing procedures while providing a coordinated flow of process steps, which are extensively documented to the strictest market standards.
According to Cav. Sergio Stevanato, CEO of Stevanato Group, "The certification process has demanded time and energy over the last few months and shows that the whole Group, on a global scale, is committed to providing its customers with the highest quality in its services, effectively responding to their requirements".
In addition, the Group plans to achieve ISO 15378 certification at all facilities to formalize, compliance with applicable Good Manufacturing Practices, which so far has been tested and proven by frequent, extensive audits by experts from leading pharmaceutical companies.

The new site in Monterrey Mexico will reach an estimated output of 150 million vials and cartridges in 2009, a figure that will double during the next two years. All containers comply with the highest international quality standards for pharmaceutical primary packages.
The site, which already covers 7,000 square meters of the planned 12,000 square meters, fully meets the highest process quality standards through the synergic combination of the expertise of the Glass and Engineering Divisions, the two business areas of Stevanato Group. The design and development of the site was internally managed by the Engineering Division, which took care of the project and the installation of the manufacturing lines. While the training of the local staff and the process quality standards were the responsibility of the Glass Division.
